Dr. Seleq specialises in a range of gastrointestinal conditions including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), small bowel disorders as well as biliary and pancreatic disorders. He is an experienced therapeutic endoscopist with a subspecialty interest in lesion assessment and resection as well as hepatobiliary procedures including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound.
Professional Profile
Dr. Seleq graduated from the University of Auckland, School of Medicine and completed his gastroenterology training throughout the North Island including an endoscopy fellowship at Waikato Hospital. He completed dual fellowships at the prestigious St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, a centre of excellence, where he focused on all aspects of therapeutic endoscopy including lesion assessment and advanced resection, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy (ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound) and small bowel endoscopy. His second fellowship was dedicated to the assessment and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases.
He is actively involved in research and has presented at both national and international conferences, as well as multiple publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. X
He has returned home to the North Shore with his wife and two young boys, having taken up a public appointment at Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) Waitemata.
