Associate Professor Walmsley is a graduate of the University of Bristol, England and underwent specialty training in gastroenterology and internal medicine in the UK. His doctoral research is in inflammatory bowel disease, undertaken at the Royal Free Hospital, London and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
