Dr. Jafer has an interest in upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases, IBD, IBS, colorectal cancer screening and gastrointestinal bleeding/anaemia. He subspecialises in capsule endoscopy and is an accredited preferred provider for Southern Cross Health Society.
Professional Profile
Dr. Jafer completed his post-qualification training in Auckland in general medicine and gastroenterology. After obtaining his FRACP, he worked at Middlemore hospital as a consultant then did his post-graduate training at the Royal Free hospital in London on luminal gastroenterology and trained on capsule endoscopy, CT colonography, and colorectal screening.
Since February 2008 he has been employed as a specialist gastroenterologist and physician at Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) Waitemata. He also works in private at Waitemata Gastroenterology, Takapuna, and Henderson Medical Centre.
