COVID-19/Coronavirus Update

Waitemata Endoscopy have restored some services under Alert Level 3, and we welcome your referral. Please call 09 925 4449 to arrange an appointment.

If you are coming to Waitemata Endoscopy as a patient, we want you to know that we are acutely aware of the rapidly changing situation regarding COVID-19, and your safety is our highest priority. We understand that our people, our patients and the wider public will have concerns about being exposed to the virus.  

In line with the latest government advice, we are strictly reducing contact opportunities, to help stop the spread of COVID-19. We would like to make sure that everyone is aware of the precautions that are now in place: 

  • Excellent hand and respiratory hygiene with increased regularity of surface cleaning, disinfecting, physical distancing and use of barriers at reception
  • Screening questionnaires for all patients at time of booking and on arrival 
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use in accordance to your examination (and based on the best scientific advice, which is updated daily)
  • Patient & appointment management – ensuring limited crossover and more time between patients allowing for surface disinfection and reduced patient to patient contact
  • Contact tracing information – as guided by the Ministry of Health
  • Where possible, all managerial and administrative members of staff continuing to work-from-home 

Please understand the following patients cannot be seen at Waitemata Endoscopy

  • Suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases – these patients are not able to be treated by us and should be managed by liaison between primary care, hospital and public health officials.
  • Close or casual contacts of suspected or confirmed cases, who ALSO have fever/respiratory symptoms – these patients are not able to be treated by us and should be managed by liaison between primary care, hospital and public health officials.
  • Any individual who has travelled in the last 14 days OR is in self-isolation
